The Ultimate Point Where "Social Responsibility" has Reached!

While we were screaming "End to Sexism in media! End to Sexist Commercials", we came across the web site of TBWA Advertising Agency designed as a "social responsibility" project to increase "sensitivity toward global warming"! The web site www.simsicakgeceler.com has been designed in the form of a pornographic web page, with an opening headline that reads "Hot Nights/ Are you ready for a hot night?" You can find pictures of women in bikinis and underwear, and you are asked to click on the pictures for the women to take off their clothes. When you click, they start to striptease and speak to us, "Hot Nights are Approaching! Take steps against global warming!"

We not only find any sort of creativity in this project, but also are fed up with the sexist approaches in advertising sector, and your kind of ‘creativity' that is based on clichés, and not saying anything new except for despising and materializing women!

We would like to ask TBWA Advertising Agency, which designed this web site and claimed doing so in the name of "social responsibility";
- When you say ‘social responsibility', exactly for which part of society you feel responsible? How come women are always outside your responsibility limits?
- Can you not find a ‘creative' way to sell your products other than putting women's bodies forward into the commercial market, and feeding on pornography and taboos?

Women consist half of this country, this world and pornography, which uses women as sex slaves to men, is, unfortunately, a profitable sector supported by high number of consumers.... you cannot take advantage of this ‘profitability and consumption' to sell this to society under the name of ‘social responsibility'. Don't you realize; pornography and materialization of women's bodies, no matter what the reason is, are increasing the number of crimes against women, particularly sexual crimes, driving everybody's future into a hell state as dangerous as global warming.

We call TBWA Advertising Agency to ban the web site immediately; stay away from this kind of mentality which discriminates by violating women's mental and physical integrity, and take on the real responsibility that falls on their shoulders.

We call for all related institutions and public to react against this type of companies and commercials that exhibit a real manner of ‘irresponsibility' by acting on a mentality that claims ‘there is no good or bad commercial'.
