We have been trying to watch sexism in media, interfere through our actions since 2006.
We implemented "End to Sexism in Media" campaign during 2008.
We started our campaign by saying
• "Page three girl" in papers, "Victim" or "Monster" in women's talk shows, "Selfless Mother", "Good girl" or "Femme-fatale" in TV serials, Wrapped in "Flag" or "Veil" on politics pages, and generally "Backstage" and "Invisible" Enough is enough!.
and then during the campaign we watched the national media regularly during two weeks through "Forms of Representation of Women in Media" research.
We discuss both results of media watch and sexism in media with addressee people in "For a Nonsexist Media" conference. We published a book named "End to Sexism in Media" that includes content of conference and research, all statements, visuals and advertisements of campaign.
We go on objecting and interfering sexism in media that:
• 15% of Media Managers are women, 85% are men
• 12% of Columnists are women, 88% are men
• 11% of Guests in political discussion programs on TV are women, 89% are men
